The Iowa Association of Legal Assistants.Paralegals (IALA) consists of eight regions which correspond to Iowa’s eight judicial districts.

 

IALA was established to serve the educational needs of paralegals in the state of Iowa.

 

 

IALA has approximately 300 members.

 

 

Active Members in IALA receive a subscription to Legal Assistant Today.


All members of IALA receive The Original Notice, a membership directory/networking resource, scholarship opportunities, placement assistance, and reduced costs at seminars.


IALA sponsors Iowa State Bar Association functions twice yearly and collaborates with the Iowa State Bar Association Legal Assistant Committee regarding issues affecting the paralegal profession.


IALA is affiliated with National Association of Legal Assistants/Paralegals (NALA).

 

Members are kept apprised of laws that affect their profession and activities of affiliated associations throughout the country.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

IALA’s 2012 Fall Seminar will  take place on September 28, 2012 at the Sheraton Hotel in West Des Moines.

IALA’s 2012 Spring Seminar will be held on April 27, 2012 at the Marriott in Coralville/Iowa City.   Check back for more details.

IALA President, Rhonda Henning, was the recipient of a 2011 Affiliated Associations' Affiliates Award during the NALA convention in Dallas!  Rhonda was recognized as someone who leads by example and a positive influence for bringing new members onto the board of directors.
 
Additionally, Rhonda was recognized for being a positive advocate of the paralegal profession and was credited with establishing a productive rapport with the Iowa Bar Association and opening lines of communication with the Bar regarding paralegal regulation in Iowa.
 
Congratulations, Rhonda, on this well deserved recognition!!
